What is the Default Assignment Owner of the resources you are having trouble with? It may be blank, in which case you need to set it to the name of the resource. Steve Moderator note: Spawned this thread from the original to maintain topic separation.

| No problem. By the way, I'm not sure what patchlevel you are at or how you created these resources, but there were a few issues fixed in SP1 where if you created a resource through Pro or through AD Sync, Assignment Owner may not be populated.

| Also note that if you already have a project out there and published with that resource assigned to tasks while the Default Assignment Owner is blank, you can set the Default Assignment Owner in PWA, but you may also need to update the tasks' "Assignment Owner" field. In the project, go to View-->Resource Usage and insert the Assignment Owner field and make the corrections. All assignments will have an owner, whether it be that resource or someone else (i.e. the Status manager) if the project doesn't find a Default value for the resource in the ERP. I've experienced situations where the new default you populate for the resource doesn't update existing assignments, so you have to update those manually within the project. |

| Thanks Steve. I am still having an issue with the calendar not showing up in my task update field. It is asking for % complete. I have my task tracking method set to require actual work done and hrs remaining. Is there a setting I am missing somewhere? |

"Actual work done and work remaining" is entered as a total for the assignment. If I recall correctly, there is no "by day" input mechanism with this tracking method. If you are looking for the type of time entry grid that Project Server 2007 has, this does not exist in Project Server 2007 RTM. However, SP1 does provide this functionality in a form that is somewhat different than 2003's implementation. To enable this (only if you have SP1):
The server will display a grid of 7 days. The current day will be "centered" in this grid, with three days in either direction. This means that you will have to train your users to put their time in on a daily basis, as they will not be able to enter Monday's time on a Friday. Alternatively, if you set the Project's tracking method to "Hours of work done per period", you can edit the details of each assignment and enter the time in a grid there. However, this is a really inconvenient way to enter the information, which is why Microsoft made the change in SP1. You can also enter the information into the timesheet. If the tracking type on the project (or the server, as the case may be) is "Hours of work done per period", upon import the information will be populated into the correct day on the task.

I have done this and I see the grid to which you refer on the My Tasks page, but I am not seeing anything on the Assignment Details page other than the %Complete option. |

| Have you republished the offending project?

| Are you working with proposals and activities? In my experience, the "calendar" only displays for project tasks, not proposal or activity tasks. Universally, I don't know for sure whether that is true, but that's just my experience.... Last edited by gojackets5; 03-27-2008 at 03:12 PM. |

| I am working with Projects, but the key seems that the project wants to hold on to the way the time was originally reported. I deleted the project and saved/published the project again and the grid appears as I had selected in the "Task Settings and Display" screen. |
