After a full inspection by some PS professionals we patched the MOPS installation with last updates and got rid of most part of previous errors. The first advise was "Never use a translation of PS: install the US version, then apply language patch" Well, if any cares, we solved the previous errors ( http://forums.epmfaq.com/project-ser...ded-error.html , http://forums.epmfaq.com/project-ser...ct-server.html ) with: Server: infrastructureupdateforwindowssharepointservices3. 0-kb951695 infrastructureupdateformicrosoftofficeservers-kb951297 Client: project2007sp1-kb937154 infrastructureupdateformicrosoftofficeproject2007-kb951547 I also moved all running proccesses to a user called project.server with proper privileges, and granted BBDD access. Datos: 0000: 05 00 07 80 ...€ (Translation: Working process could not init the communication http.sys or the w3svc communication level and could not init. Data field contains the error number.) Thanks in advance.

Of course! You are doing a great job, much more than M$ Technical $ervice! I think all those problems are related to the Spanish version of MOPS. Could anybody tell me the ports that are necesary for PS to work properly? something like netsh firewall show state verbose=enable from a well-working server would be fantastic! Thanks in advance.

![]() It depends on what kind of configuration you are trying to support, how your servers are configured, and where things are located within your network infrastructure. If you are trying to support people remotely connecting to PS07 using Pro/PWA and your PS07 instance is configured to use port 80, then you should only need port 80 open from the dirty side into your PS07 WFEs. If you are trying to support applications that use impersonation that are run remotely, then you will need to open additional ports... however, I would advise against this configuration as it may significantly increase the exposure of your server to attacks. This is one of the reasons why the PSI Proxy was created -- so you didn't need to expose the PSI itself, only the web application where PWA resides so it can then forward on your requests.

The configuration is the simplest: single server, shared with other apps. Not heavy loaded. So if my PWA is running in a SS on port 12345, and it is configured as a firewall exception, there's no need to open any other port? The problem is that the firewall is complaining about some UDP ports opened by svchosts that are blocked, and I don't know if it can be related with the W3SVC-WP fail ( 2269 and 7888 errors, 503 unavailable message ). Some other services/apps that are open in the firewall and might cause these problems are: - WAMP on port 8080 - SMB - Terminal Services And those two, that I thing they should not be open in the firewall: - C:\WINDOWS\system32\cys.exe - C:\WINDOWS\system32\mmc.exe The intranet is well protected behind a firewall, but I insist in having a firewall software installed in the server. Which one do you recommend? Any Open Source sollution? Thanks!

Hi all! Seems that I am unable to solve certain problems with PWA. The botch job to get PWA work was setting a script that reboots all services involved in MOPS: Code: echo off net stop w3svc net stop http /y net stop ProjectEventService net stop ProjectQueueService net start w3svc net start http net start ProjectEventService net start ProjectQueueService I'm trying to rescue BBDD .sql files and deploy them into a fully new installed MOPS ( English version ) but MOPS seems not to like DDBB overwritting, maybe I'm missing some steps... The restore-backup option didn't work for me in any case. I tried full SSP restore and lowered tier by tier backups until only-pwa restore, with no satisfactory results. Still trying... I'm opening a new thread for another question.
