Talking Error in MS Project Server 2007 on Windows 2008

Hi!

I am working on a POC for Project Server 2007 on Windows 2008 Server running Sql Server 2005. I was able to install & configure the project server with the latest service packs. When I click on project centre, it shows me an empty grid since there are no projects.
Once, I create a project and publish it and go back to Project Centre, it shows me the following error:
"Project Center cannot access the project(s) you are trying to view. It is most likely that you either don’t have the permissions to view the project, another user has deleted this project(s) before you were able to view it or that another user is in the process of publishing the project"
When I go to resource centre, it gives me the following error
"There was an error loading the page. Please try again by clicking Refresh. If this problem persists, contact your administrator."
I googled out this error, and found out that it can be resolved by making changes to server wide dynamic compression settings in IIS 6. Since I am using IIS 7, I made the changes accordingly but the error still persists.
Has anyone encountered this problem on the similar environment, if yes...... pl share the resolution.

Ravi,

Never had this problem, but could you please turn off custom errors and turn on stack traces in the web.config for the web application where PWA is provisioned? This should give you a more useful error.

Also, are you seeing anything in the Event / ULS logs?

LMK,
Steve

You're simply running the adsutil.vbs script using cscript to alter the settings of IIS -- you're not removing any actual files.

Look in the Application Log in Administrative Tools > Event Log, and also in the ULS log. The default location is C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web server extensions\12\LOGS.

Hi
I reviewed event log, but there is no event for project server. I did the similar installation on win2k3 with sql server 2005 and iis 6 and it is working. Do you think this as an compatibility issue with win 2008 rc0.

Great.. Are you running this in Win2K3? I got this thing resolved on Win2K3, but the problem still persists on Win2K8/IIS7
