| Project Server users are probably familiar with the Reminders webpart. It comes with the default installation and is positioned on the PWA home page. It is simply a report: A list of outstanding Tasks, Timesheets, Status Report, Approvals, Issues and Risks. We would like it to display these items for individual users, but Tasks and Status Reports are not showing in spite of the fact that they exist for users on their workspaces. This is in spite of the fact that all the Configuration values for the following have been set to true (checked):
Is there are any other configuration values that I am missing for the Reminders for tasks and Issues to show? Thanks |

If you want this other information to show, you would need to create your own Reminders webpart.

Thanks very much for your reply. I'm a bit new to Project Server 2007, so don't mind me if I need some clarification. I thought tasks were universal across the collections of Project Web Sapces in Project Server. Is there a difference between the Tasks in PWA and the tasks in a Project Work Space (PWS)? How do you differentiate between the two types of Task? Why does Risks behave differently for the Reminders web part. I can see a list of outstanding Risks assigned to a user associated in PWSs. There seems to be no difference between PWA risks and PWS risks. What am I missing? Last edited by fancyclown; 05-13-2008 at 10:28 AM. Reason: clarification |

Tasks contained in a Project Workspace are not considered "Tasks" by Project Server -- only Tasks within a Project plan. Most of my clients use Tasks in Workspaces to track Action Items derived from meetings and so forth, or to track things like feature requests, trouble tickets, etc.
