| Hi, I'm new to this project server/sharepoint 2007 thing, so I apologize if my question is obvious. Anyways, so far I got everything installed and working. But I have a question about "adding" new users to projects. So from the user page, I would just add a user to create an account. Then when I tell them to login, it says access denied for them. However, I noticed that once I add them as a resource under the resource center (but not associating them as a resource to any particular project), they are able to log in. I was just wondering if this is normal, and if so why is it like that? Thank you for your help in advance. |

Which "user page" are you using? Server Settings > Manage Users or Site Actions > Site Settings > People and Groups?

You need to use the first option (Server Settings > Manage Users), which will handle the creation of a SharePoint user on your behalf. Also note that in the Manage Users screen you can set a user up to not be a resource, just like you can set a resource to not be able to login (i.e. not be a user).
