Default Link tasks to risks

I know tasks reside in the Project DB and risks issues and document reside on the WSS DB. We used to be able to link between all the above WSS objects and the Project tasks. However for some reason they do not link any more. We can add a risk but it would not link to tasks. I have tried several things including resetting the proxies but I do not believe this is the issue as we have Project Server and WSS installed on the same box and it is on the same subnet with no proxy as the DB server. I am at my wits end and about to think about reinstalling the whole thing. Any help will be appreciated.

Default link risks to tasks

No errors what so ever. Event viewer does not have any error in it. All that I can see after I go into a project into a task and then click on link risk. It takes me to the linked risks page where I can choose a new risk or an existing risk. When I choose a new risk I get to create a risk or if I choose an existing risk and click on save changes. I go back to the linked risks page and there is no linked risk. So the risk is there it will not link to a task. I was also wondering if any one knows which table in the WSS or the project database controls this link. As I previously said this exact same process works fine in our Dev environment and Issues, Documents and risks are linkable to tasks. I am also pretty sure it is some kind of configuration issue as we used to be able to do this exact linking as some of our projects have risks linked to the tasks in them.

There is no configuration setting that would affect this. Something is wrong.

For your reference, the linkage information is stored in the MSP_WEB_OBJECTS and MSP_WEB_OBJECT_LINKS tables.

My next questions are:
  1. Are there any version differences between the two environments?
  2. What Service Pack are you running?
