Cube does not finish built(Project Server 2003 SP2a)

Hi alls,

I have Project Server 2003 SP2a and the cube's always successfully built.But a week ago, I found that the cube status on "Manage Enterprise Features" menu always shown "The cube building process was initiated on <DATE> at <TIME>" everytime I try to manual update the cube from PWA or running on schedule time.Once the manual update or schedule update is started,there's 7 errors and 2 warning appear very quick on Application Event Logs as below:

What's going on? I tried to check Olap Admin account. It's not expired and password not changed. Also ran PCCOMPLUS.exe to re-enter all credentials.Tried to reboot several times,but it's not help.



I found some articles said DSN maybe damaged from Edit Site tool but my project server not yet installed this tool before.Or I have to try installed in on Project server and recreate new DSN?



All comments would be much appriciated.

When you re-ran PSComPlus, did you "Delete All COM+ Apps"?

Are you able to check out the Resource Global in Pro?

Thank you for your reply.

My Olap Admin account was already added as a member of Oldap Administrators Local Group since we started to implement Project Server.

I re-ran the PCComplus.exe,cliced "Delete All COM+ Apps" and then re-enter all credentials. Reboot server and try to manual update cube but it's still the same. I am so worry about that because users need to see all updated cube as fast as possible.

As I know, no user has problem about using project pro. except the slowly connection to project server and need to refresh IE. Please kindly give me more explaination, I will try to check as you recommend.

Take a look at this article discussing how to create new resources.

I think users can create new resources by checking out enterprise resource pool but I will check with them again on tomorrow.

Well,other than testing the enterprise resource pool,do you have other checkings?
Have you ever seen this problem before? Do you think this error come because my DSN damaged?

I've seen these types of error before, but it was usually related to the COM+ identity. However, in one case I did encounter a similar situation where recreating the DSN did resolve the issue.

Your errors indicate that the DSN is a likely cause, but there's nothing definitive. Since you've already tried resetting the COM+ identities, you don't really have anywhere else to go. At this point, I would verify that the Resource Pool functions correctly. If it does, follow the instructions in KB888639 and let us know how it turns out.

Users could add a new resource name into Enterprise Resource Pool via Project Pro.but it's not shown on PWA.I've already checked the resource name list in Enterprise Resource Pool and found that the resource already exist. Why it cant be shown on PWA? Is there any problem between Project Pro and Project Server?

About DSN damaged issue, is there any impact or effects after installed EditSite tool on Project Server? Do I have to backup anything special other than Database?

More information:
My cube was successfully built latest at Apr 8 , after that error everytime to build the cube.

I have another question.Can I build the cube by using "Process the database" option on my MS SQL Analysis cube? Is this the same function as "Update Now" on PWA or not? If it does the same function, I will build the cube to users first then trying to solve PWA next.

Sorry for my mistake.My new resource name can be shown on PWA already.It's my fault. I forgot to change the view on "View Enterprise Resources in Resource Center" from "Resources Summany" to "Resources Profiles". It means that the Enterprise Resource Pool on both Project Pro and Project Server 2003 have no problem.

Only one issue is still the Cube could not built successfully with 7 errors and 2 warnings.
