Default Moving projects between hierarchy

Hi,
I had a question to ask.
In Microsoft Project Portfolio Server 2007, Say for ex i have a
hierarchy structure, at top level say "Telecom1"
Under this i create sub unit name "A" and under 'A" it has "A1"
and "A2" created.
I create a project under " A1" called "Project 1"

Now i create one more Hierarchy "B" under "Telecom1" and under "B"
create "B1".
My question is , is it possible to move this project "Project 1"
created under "A1" under "B1". or make a copy

Thanks
max

Default Moving projects

The training class I took last March stated that you cannot move projects from one organization to another. I believe you need to export the data, delete the entry, and then import it in the new organization.

I had a similar need. There is no out of box feature available for movement of projects across organization. Export / import works, but it does not have complete resource / issues / risks / impact assessment / risk assessment / ...

We are resorting to create the projects manually in the new organization after looking at the info in the old projects and then finally delete the project from old org.

By my knowledge, it can also be attained by some database scripts, for that good amount of knowledge of the portfolio database is needed...

Cheers,
Nishant
