Project prompts for save even when no changes have been made

We are experiencing an issue where MS Project 2007 is prompting to save when no changes have been made by the PM. Does anyone out there have any ideas on why this may be occuring?

In addition to this, it only seems to happen when we use a template stored in project server.

Ok, after some investigation it seems that this occurs when we have generic resources built on the team. When they are removed from the team, we are not prompted to save prior to publishing if not changes have been made. Does anyone out there know why this may be. The work around we are planning to put in place is to unmark these resources as generic in the true sense and basically disallow access to log into Project Server.
