Reading and updating contour data

Hello,

I need to retrieve and update the planned hours for a specific assignment on a specific task using the PSI (server side) programatically. When I try to do so using the Project service, I am only able to submit a duration and not day by day hours (contour_data).

Now it is possible to retrieve those through some internal services and even directly in the database. Even though I know this is not supported, i would like to know if anyone has experimented with this contour_data before. Any help/isights or maybe even code samples are appreciated!
